Welcome to The Next Ecology

For many organisations, a working sustainability strategy isn't just a nice-to-have – it runs through processes, supply chains, budgets, and brand. Getting it right matters. But it can be difficult to see the gaps from the inside; some problems simply aren't visible to those constantly embedded within them.

That's where an outside perspective helps. Through structured conversation with an external thinking partner, your organisation can identify what's working, where the gaps are, and where to focus next.

Who this is for

This is for you if you're a founder or senior person in a small to mid-sized organisation – close enough to the work to know that something could be sharper, and with enough authority to do something about it. You care about sustainability, but you're stretched thin across budgetary, resource, and capacity limits. You come to this kind of conversation with genuine curiosity and a real willingness to improve – not because you've been told to, but because you want your sustainability work to actually mean something.

The Workshop Series

The Next Ecology's core service is a structured series of three sessions, each building on the last. Together, they move from understanding where your organisation is now, to identifying what kind of change you're trying to make, to a clear recommendation on where to focus first.

Where are you now?

Untangling the present, gaining clarity for the future

The first session is a 90-minute conversation – question-led and open, built around your organisation's specific situation. Afterwards, you receive a Strategy Snapshot: a short document capturing the key findings and what they mean for your organisation. Through structured dialogue, we surface what's working, where the gaps are, and what your sustainability goals actually look like in practice. After this session, most clients leave with more clarity than they arrived with.

What kind of change are you trying to make?

From gaps to goals: defining the destination

The second session takes the findings from Session 1 and pushes further: what kind of change is your organisation actually trying to make? Through continued dialogue, we move from diagnosis to direction – getting specific about priorities, timelines, and what a genuinely good sustainability outcome looks like for you. Afterwards, you receive a second Strategy Snapshot, capturing where the conversation landed.

What should you do next, and why?

Where clarity becomes action

The third session brings the series to a close. Drawing on everything surfaced in Sessions 1 and 2, we move from understanding to recommendation – identifying the most important things your organisation should do next, and why. Afterwards, you receive a Strategy Review: a more detailed document with prioritised recommendations and the reasoning behind them. It's the kind of thing that makes a real difference in an internal meeting – a considered, independent assessment that gives weight to the case for change.

Pricing

The workshop series is available as a full three-session engagement or as a standalone first session. A limited number of pilot sessions are available at a reduced rate. Pricing is available on request – get in touch to find out more.
